Are you a teacher or retired teacher ? Do you write or dabble with writing - short story, novel, memoir, reflection, poetry, play/film script ? if so, you might like to submit some of your work to Waterford Teachers' Centre for consideration in an anthology of writing to be published this coming Autumn (2018).
The anthology is part of an effort by Waterford Teachers' Centre to encourage creative talent within the profession. The anthology's editor is to be Edward Denniston. Edward , a recently retired teacher of English and Drama, is a poet with a number of publications, most recently, For Crying Out Loud (Salmon Poetry, 2017). During Spring of this year he facilitated a regular workshop for teachers who write, hosted by the Centre. He is also a creative writing tutor for adults at WCFE.
Closing date for Submissions: Friday, 16th November 2018.
Unfortunately, there is no payment if your writing is included in this publication. Those published in the book will receive two free copies.
NOTE: There is no theme or subject matter for this anthology but writing, inspired, provoked or prompted by the experience of teaching would be interesting to receive.

Please use SINGLE LINE SPACING and 12 point font size.
Category 1: Memoir, Reflection, Short Story, Novel Extract - max of between 1200 to 1500 words (MAX TWO PIECES OF WORK)
Category 2: ONE ONLY screenplay or play script extract: appropriately formatted please. Max three sides of A4.
Category 3: Poetry. Max 6 poems. Max of 42 lines per poem.
You may submit work in TWO of the three categories above.
IN THE BODY OF YOUR EMAIL please give the titles of the work you are sending, your name, contact details and a brief biography of where you are from, what you teach and how and why you became interested in writing.
