ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFERENCES
Title: Assistive Technology for Specific Learning Differences
Target Group: Primary/ Post Primary Teachers/ SNAs
The practical course will run for one full day on a Saturday and will cover the following assistive technologies:
- Narration Technologies e.g. Read Write, Claroread Professional and C Pen.
- Professional Speech to Text technology e.g. Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
- Professional mind mapping technology e.g. Mindview.
- Free Narration and Dictation Technologies.
The course will be delivered by Mark Burleigh who has over 10 years’ experience in training and teaching Assistive Technology to audiences from primary through to third level education. He holds a Single Honours Degree in Computer Science and a Research Masters Degree in Computer Science from University College Cork. He undertakes research in the area of Assistive Technology in Higher Education and has published to conference. He is also an Oracle Certified Associate in Java and has a passion for teaching technology to all levels.
