753 PRIMARY: SCIENCE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Are you looking for fun science activities for your classroom? This course is aimed at providing you with a valuable toolkit that will enhance your teaching of science in your classroom and in using the local environment. Integrating practical and active methods into your teaching of science will allow the pupils to develop higher order problem and thinking skills. The course contains practical activities for all four strands of the primary science curriculum (living things, materials, energy and forces and the environment) The main aims of the course are to:
1. Take some of the basic theories of the four strands and develop practical classroom activities or field work.
2. Carry out practical and field work safely and effectively with everyday materials.
3. Use ICT to enhance the teaching of primary science. 4. Identify cross curricular opportunities for the science curriculum. 5. Identify learning outcomes from practical sessions. Teachers will receive a fully comprehensive booklet, which will include practical guides to the four strands, with material lists and full instructions for practical activities, and with details of the science behind each activity included. Our teachers that participated on this Summer Science Course last year were very happy with its content and different workshops.
