WEBINAR: YOGA & WELLBEING - 4 WEEK COURSE
Classes will start promptly at 7pm and finish at 7.45pm. Also as these classes are on Zoom, cameras can be off or on and all attendees will be on mute once the class starts.
4 week course
Each class will run for 45 mins and over the 4 weeks I will introduce yoga to you as a beginner. If you haven’t practiced yoga before this is an opportunity to give it a go and see if it is for you. If you have practiced before, this is a nice refresher to remind you about the different alignments for each pose and enjoy some more relaxing yoga within your own home.
We will begin each class with a mindfulness breath practice. Each week I will give you different breathing techniques for you to use if you wish to away from class. Meditation and mindfulness have been proven to support individuals in reducing stress and anxiety.
The Yoga Practice
Over the course of the 4 weeks we will work into the different areas of the body, from the neck and shoulders, to the spine, hips and legs. Focusing on all these different areas will help support your body in increasing flexibility, whilst building strength and balance. I will offer you different alternatives where I can to make each pose accessible to you.
Each class will finish with relaxation or also known as ‘Shavasana’. I will guide you through a relaxing body mapping technique called yoga Nidra (sleep Yoga). This is very relaxing and allows your body to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system and promote relaxation in your whole body. It is also an important time for you to allow your body to settle from your practice before returning to the rest of your evening, ready for a good nights sleep.
You will need the following:
- A yoga or exercise mat
- Cushion and blanket
- A long strap (dressing gown or long trouser belt will do perfect)
- Wear comfy stretchy clothing
- Water if you need to hydrate
