If you would like to know more about Positive Psychology and how to handle challenging scenarios or you see yourself in a leadership role or would like to know more about people management, you might be interested to hear what they have to say. All teachers are welcome to join them for a short information session in
Waterford Teachers Centre on 15th Jan 2020 from 6 pm till 7 pm.
Tea/coffee available from 5.30 pm
This will be a “Drop In” service that will run on a fortnightly basis starting on Jan 29th . The Teachers Centre will take bookings if you wish to attend.
At the recent Deputy Principal’s Seminar held in Waterford Teachers’ centre Deirdre O Connor, (INTO Assistant General Secretary) declared that a leadership role is largely a people management role and therefore requires professional development in people management.
It has been recommended by an INTO working group that there should be widespread training in people management skills and recommended programmes such as Forbairt and Tánaiste. They also recommend the extension of the current Professional Coaching Service for Principals to ALL teachers working in middle management.
