We are undertaking a motor skills development programme workshop on
On: Friday, March 23rd 2018
At: Waterford Teachers Centre
Time: 9.00 AM – 3.00 PM
The workshop is ideal for teachers/SNA’s /physical education teachers and anyone interested in special education.
If you engage with children who have dyspraxia or who are on the spectrum then this workshop will help in getting children active in a structured and playful way Teachers, SNA’s and learning support teachers are encouraged to observe and take part. The idea being that after attending the workshop, the school can then carry on the ‘Smart Moves’ programme within the school setting as part of an inclusive PE programme.
I enclose information about the workshop which hopefully you might send someone along to represent your school.
Please find attached details of the Smart Moves Programme, a highly regarded programme by UK Occupational Therapist, Sharon Drew. Sharon's programme provides a range of activities that can be integrated with ease into both the classroom and home life to help improve co-ordination and concentration levels in children with learning difficulties, in particular dyspraxia/DCD and sensory issues.
Certifications of attendance for CPD will be provided.
