Information & Enrolment: The course will focus on using the marine environment through cross-curricular activities to support teaching and learning in the primary school classroom. It will explore scientific methods and techniques, the learning objectives of UN sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and 14 and development of Key Competencies in the classroom and during fieldwork on the Seashore. Teachers will integrate literacy and numeracy into several lessons and reflect on environmental awareness and care of our ocean. They will examine theory and techniques for exploring climate change, marine litter, biodiversity loss, conservation and empathy for the natural world using STEM and a range of Creative and Practical inquiry-based exercises.
Teachers should bring waterproof footwear and clothing for seashore fieldwork which will be carried out on local shores throughout the course.
Lunch will be provided daily.

Teachers who attend the full 20-hour summer course will qualify for 3 extra Personal vacation days.
