This webinar will introduce the Assistive Technology Training Programme (ATTAINS) developed by Disability Office WIT. This 6-week outreach student-focused training programme is run in collaboration with post-primary schools and community partners across Waterford City and County. An overview and background to this project will be provided. This will be followed by an introduction to the free- built-in accessibility features included within schools learning platforms; MS Office 365 Package and Google Suite. These features are designed for students with dyslexia or for any student who finds reading challenging. 

Bio- Majella McCarthy, PATH/ WIT Enabling Transitions Project Lead. Prior to commencing her role in October 2019, Majella worked as a Learning Support Tutor with the Disability Office at WIT for 5 years. This role entailed working directly with a specific caseload of third-level students registered with the Disability Office and duties included supporting students with their academic course work as well as training students on assistive technologies. Majella, also has over 10 years of research experience, working on a number of collaborative health service research projects across a number of areas including mental health both in Australia and in Ireland.
